The itinerary

Eight stops, roughly 5 km apart
How it works. Start at Hexham railway station and run the Tyne Valley eastward, stopping at each pub for a pint before pressing on. The pubs don't open until around midday, so the default 11:00 start brings you to the first stop, The Pele in Corbridge, just as the doors open. The legs get shorter in the middle and there's a cheeky climb up to Horsley, the shortest leg on paper (3 km) but the one that'll hurt ๐Ÿ˜…. Finish line is a well-earned pint at The Engine Inn, Walbottle. Sensible drinking, sensible shoes, and a plan for getting home afterwards!
