42.3 km on foot from Hexham to Walbottle, pausing for a pint at eight pubs along the way. On Saturday 22 August 2026, we ran it. Here's how the day went.

The running order, roughly 5 km apart
How it went. We set off from Hexham railway station and ran the Tyne Valley eastward, stopping at each pub for a pint before pressing on. The legs got shorter in the middle, and that cheeky climb up to Horsley โ the shortest leg on paper (3.2 km) โ hurt exactly as much as promised ๐ . The finish line was a very well-earned pint at The Engine Inn, Walbottle. Sensible shoes, questionable decisions, and every single one of us got home. ๐ป
See you next year
